The first wedding-themed book I reviewed was written by two wedding planners in 2005. Since then I have seen an endless series of publications on how to organise a wedding, or how to become a wedding planner.
Many publications, of which many, very much the same.
This book, on the other hand, is not the usual vademecum, but describes, as the author says, ‘everything you never thought would happen before, during and after a wedding. Stories of couples, of traditions, of adventures and misadventures, of curiosities and the unexpected, told through the eyes of those who shape the emotions on the most important day’.
To prove that being a true professional wedding planner is much more difficult than what TV formats, films or casual articles convey, the author tells her story.
And she tells her story by exposing herself to the public, even in the memory of painful experiences, mishaps or very moving situations. Experiences from which she has learned a great deal. All this is always approached with positivity, great irony and the amusing complicity, which can be read between the funniest lines of the book, between professionals, make-up artists, photographers, flower designers. All actors on the same stage, that of events.
In conclusion, of the organisation of an event this book tells us the hows and whys, without forgetting the hows and whys of the heart.

The author:
Diana Da Ros was born in Udine, Italy, in 1981, to an Italian father and a mother from the Czech Republic. She is married and a mother and, like many, divides her time between family and the work she loves.
She worked in the world of fashion, from 2003 to 2008, at important international brands such as Calvin Klein, Dsquared, Gucci, Moschino, as well as in the editorial staff of the Canale 5 programme Nonsolomoda. She was a public relations and event manager (Pr & Event Manager) for an American tour operator, then, in 2010, she founded her own wedding and event organisation agency.
Since then she has been realising the dreams of many couples in Italy and around the world.
At Assowedding she is a Lecturer and Cultural Ambassador for International Experiences.
