A Journey Through Nature, Art, and Tradition: The Photoshoot Showcasing Three Wedding Trends for 2025
When it comes to weddings, the bride is undoubtedly the star. Yet, every element surrounding her—from the dress to the accessories, makeup, hairstyle, venue, decor, and even the landscape—forms the frame, with the bride as the painting.
So, what better opportunity than a photoshoot to inspire and give brides ideas for a concept or new trends?
Today, I want to talk about one such photoshoot, brought to life through three incredible themes, thanks to the vision and organization of Diana Da Ros. A shoot that blended the beauty of Sicily, artisanal traditions, and natural inspiration.
Let me take you on this journey through colors, flowers, and water.
“Sicily is Colors & Flowers”: Sicily Between Flowers and Architecture
The first theme, “Sicily is Colors & Flowers,” is an homage to Sicily’s vibrant beauty. There was no better setting than the Castello di San Marco in Calatabiano, a Sicilian gem whose imposing architecture tells a timeless tale of elegance.
Tomas De Bruyne, a brilliant international floral designer, crafted a cascade of flowers in soft, warm tones that seem to caress the castle’s curves, following the lines and forms of its walls. The result was nothing short of magical. The bride, adorned in an embroidered gown by Sicilian designer Claudio Di Mari, exuded whispered elegance, blending seamlessly into this enchanting landscape.
Her hairstyle, adorned with fresh flowers crafted with the unmistakable passionate creativity of top hairstylist Carmelo Spina, paired with the light makeup by makeup artist Fabio Lo Coco, evoked a sense of freshness and refinement. Each photograph captured the perfect harmony between nature, architecture, and fashion.
The images were masterfully taken by Michael Zennaro.
“Bride in a Vase”: An Interpretation of Sicilian Ceramics
The second theme, “Bride in a Vase,” draws inspiration from Sicilian ceramics with their vibrant colors and artistic shapes, each telling a story of tradition and craftsmanship. Here, the bride transforms into a sculpture—an ethereal figure seemingly emerging from a frame.
The focal point: pastel-toned flowers gently emerging from the water. Imagine this bride in an aquatic setting, surrounded by floating flowers by Decorum, adding an air of lightness and mystery. Paired with a soft hairstyle mimicking the flow of water and luminous makeup, each image becomes a painting—a timeless moment where Sicilian tradition merges with contemporary beauty.
“The Contemporary Mermaid”: The Mermaid Bride Between Sea and Nature
The third theme, “The Contemporary Mermaid,” is perhaps the most evocative. Here, the bride becomes a modern mermaid emerging from the sea in a dress that highlights sensuality and the body’s fluidity.
The wet-look hairstyle and intense makeup emphasize the model’s magnetic and mysterious allure, while the bouquet, floating on the water, transforms into a jellyfish gliding through the waves.
What struck me most about this theme was the perfect fusion between the bride and her natural surroundings. In shots where the model lay on a bed of succulents, the effect was extraordinary: the bride and the earth seemed as one. Water, plants, and the gown created a mystical yet contemporary atmosphere.
Looking back at the images from this extraordinary project, it’s clear that each theme was designed to explore and celebrate the beauty of Sicily, its culture, and its nature. Every photograph captured an emotion, telling a story without words but through visuals that speak for themselves.
And this reminds us of two important things:
A wedding is not just an event; it is a story brought to life in every detail.
When you work with a team of genuine, proactive, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals, anything is possible. Anything is magical.
Take a look at the photos.
