ISCHIA AND CAPRI: THE ISLANDS OF LA DOLCE VITA
A dive into the favourite islands for Destination Weddings of yesterday, today and tomorrow
When you arrive on Ischia, or Capri, you immediately rediscover that glamorous atmosphere of the 1950s and 1960s. These places were loved by royal families, Hollywood stars, artists, intellectuals and millionaires who found a peaceful and worldly refuge here.
The intensity of the blue sea, the colours of the sunsets and the dinners in typical restaurants are the perfect setting for a romantic trip.
With the team of Primavera Dreams, myself and my colleagues Luba Mitnik Gankin (Boston) and Stefania Silvestro (Ischitana doc), with whom I organise international destination weddings on these wonderful islands, I collected the most suitable images to tell the story of an island wedding.
For example, celebrating an intimate symbolic wedding in the evocative Aragonese Castle of Ischia with a spectacular view of the sea and the island, and then, by sea, arriving by boat at the Eden Garden whose breathtaking location conquers all.
From the green Ischia to the blue Capri, and you are immediately projected into a film.
Arriving in a blazing red vintage car to reach the location of the ceremony, La Canzone del Mare, is a unique emotion, because as soon as you get out of the car you are immersed in the splendour of the Faraglioni, the symbol of Capri par excellence.
Getting married on Capri is such an intense emotion that it deserves to be etched into a work by the artist Vittorio di Buongiorno Ravello during a live painting performance during the ceremony.
A photo session on a boat among the Faraglioni is a must before arriving at one of the most exclusive locations ever, the Hotel Caesar Augustus, amid elegance, majesty and beauty.
And to finish, a colourful table among fuchsia orchids, a touch of yellow and traditional blue and white ceramics.
Thus the colours, flavours and splendour of an Italy that will never go out of fashion, especially for weddings.
