NOT JUST MAKE-UP & HAIR STYLE. The best looks of the actresses at the 81st Venice Film Festival 2024

The 81st Venice Film Festival, which has just taken place, never disappoints when it comes to beauty and style! On the red carpet paraded makeup and hair looks that not only enchanted, but also dictated trends for the autumn season. Let’s take a look at the beauty looks of some of the stars who attended the kermesse and who particularly impressed me.

Angelina Jolie: Hollywood glamour. Angelina Jolie embodied the timeless glamour of Hollywood with a beauty look that left everyone breathless. She caught the eye in a custom-made dress by Tamara Ralph, accompanied by a faux fur cover-up. Her refined and minimalist look went perfectly with the make-up, which highlighted her natural beauty. Her scarlet red lips, by Tom Ford, stole the show, paired with nails of the same colour for an old-fashioned diva effect. Her straight blonde hair, combed in a simple style, maintained the perfect balance between elegance and modernity.

Nicole Kidman. She chose a dress from the Schiaparelli FW24 haute couture collection, featuring a cinched waist that enhanced her figure. The look was sophisticated and retro, embellished with gold details that added a touch of luxury to her style. For the make-up, Nicole Kidman chose a delicate and natural make-up that enhanced her refined features. The eyes were enhanced by eyeshadows in neutral shades and defined lashes for an intense but restrained look. On the lips, she preferred a nude lipstick, perfect to maintain the overall harmony of the look. Her hair, left loose and straight, elegantly framed her face, adding a touch of simplicity and sophistication to her overall look, completing a flawless and timeless look.

Julianne Moore: shimmering elegance in gold. Julianne Moore dominated the red carpet in a gold Bottega Veneta gown, entirely decorated with sequins. The soft silhouette and plunging V-neckline added a touch of glamour, while her bright, natural make-up highlighted a radiant complexion. The look was accompanied by a hairstyle gathered into a low ponytail with a central parting, perfect to enhance the sophistication of her face and highlight the brilliance of the dress.

Tilda Swinton: minimalist elegance by Chanel Couture. Tilda Swinton, always on the cutting edge with her unique style, chose a Chanel Couture outfit. Made of ivory tulle with micro ruffles and fringes, her look exemplified delicacy and sophisticated minimalism. The jacket with central buttons added elegant structure, while matching pumps completed the outfit impeccably. For make-up, Swinton opted for an essential look, focusing on a light base, nude eyes and a satin blush, perfectly matching her famous androgynous pixie cut.

Monica Bellucci: soft waves and mystery. Monica Bellucci, in perfect dark and sensual style, wore a black dress by Vivienne Westwood, with dark glasses and a Cartier necklace, embodying her timeless glamour; she chose a delicate approach with natural make-up: rosy cheeks and nude lips that enhanced her Mediterranean beauty. Loose hair, styled in light waves, gave her a refined and romantic air, while a pair of oversized sunglasses added a touch of mystery, completing her goth chic look.

Kasia Smutniak: the pixie cut that conquers. She surprised everyone with a black pearl headdress by Giorgio Armani, inspired by the flapper girls of the 1920s. Her total black look, an asymmetrical Gucci dress, was minimalist but striking, highlighted by a tattoo on her back and minimal make-up. Among the short haircuts spotted in Venice, her scaled-down mini bob caught the eye. With a maxi fringe, her jaunty cut dominated the red carpet, representing one of the major hair trends for autumn.

Sveva Alviti: soft smokey eyes. The godmother of this edition, Sveva Alviti, sported a sparkling dress with a deep V-neck and a side slit, by Armani Privé.  Her elegant look was completed by a blonde hairstyle that gave a glamorous and contemporary touch and she went for one of the make-up classics: smokey eyes. However, she chose a softer version, which made her look intense but not excessive, perfect for such a prestigious event.

Emily Ratajkowski: chic waves and nude make-up.Emily Ratajkowski opted for a more vintage look, sporting a green dress with a plunging neckline from the Gucci FW2004 collection, which enhanced her sensuality and charm. For her hair, she embraced a relaxed but still chic style, sporting her wavy long bob, one of the most popular and easy-to-wear hairstyles. Make-up remained minimalist, with a nude-coloured lipstick that enhanced her natural beauty.

Miriam Leone: burgundy eyes. Miriam Leone stood out in a Fendi dress with a long slit and worked gloves, complemented by dark glasses and precious jewellery, for a bold and glamorous look; she added a touch of colour to her beauty look with an eye make-up that focused on burgundy red. This bold choice emphasised her green eyes, giving her face a magnetic and sophisticated look.

The Venice Film Festival 2024 was not only a riot of great cinema, but also a catwalk of beauty trends ready to conquer the autumn. From iconic red lips to bold pixie cuts, the stars showed that make-up and hair can be powerful tools for expressing elegance and personality. Those who follow these trends in the coming months will surely be in step with the best the beauty world has to offer!
